Mitaki Peace Tour Beyond Central Hiroshima

A guided journey from Hiroshima’s memorial sites to the serene stories of Mitaki

About

The highlight of this tour is Mitaki Temple, a peaceful mountainside temple founded in 809 and beloved by locals for centuries. Today, it’s also gaining popularity among international visitors. The journey begins near the atomic bomb hypocenter, where you’ll learn about Hiroshima’s past. From there, we leave the city behind and make your way to Mitaki Temple, located halfway up Mt. Mitaki.

Surrounded by forest and stone Buddhist statues, the temple offers a quiet contrast to the city. As you walk through its grounds, you’ll encounter a striking pagoda, a bell hall, and buildings that were exposed to the atomic bombing — each with its own story, brought to life by your local guide.

This tour offers more than just sightseeing — it provides a peaceful setting to learn, reflect, and connect with Hiroshima’s ongoing message of peace.
